Terms of Use

Calendar Mesh is provided free of charge, by invitation, as a personal project run by one individual. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it and ask for your account to be removed.

1. What the service does

Calendar Mesh reads calendar feeds (ICS files) that you choose, and copies events from them into calendars inside accounts you connect — principally Microsoft Outlook, and optionally Google Calendar. It checks for changes roughly every 15 minutes and writes any differences it finds.

It is a one-way copy. Editing an event inside Outlook does not change the original feed, and your edit will typically be overwritten the next time the feed is checked.

2. Your account

• Access is by invitation only. Accounts may be granted, suspended or removed at any time, with or without notice or explanation.
• You are responsible for the security of the Google and Microsoft accounts you sign in with, and for everything done through your account.
• Do not share your account with anyone else. If you want someone else to have a calendar, use the sharing feature so they get their own copy.
• You must be old enough to hold a Google account in your country, and able to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for anything unlawful, or to store or distribute unlawful material;
• Add feeds you do not have the right to use, or that you are contractually barred from redistributing;
• Place unreasonable load on the service, or on the feed publishers it reads from — for example by adding an excessive number of feeds or an unreasonably short refresh interval;
• Attempt to gain access to another user's data, or to administrative functions you have not been granted;
• Probe, scan, or attempt to defeat the security of the service, or reverse-engineer it other than as permitted by law;
• Use the service to send unwanted messages, including by sharing calendars with people who have not asked for them.

Breaching this section is grounds for immediate removal of your account.

4. Calendar feeds and content

You are solely responsible for the feeds you add. You confirm that you have the right to access each one and to have its contents copied into your own calendars, and that doing so does not breach the publisher's terms.

Calendar Mesh does not own, control, verify or endorse the content of any feed. It copies what it finds, including any error in it. If a feed publishes an event at the wrong time, that wrong time is what appears in your calendar.

You retain any rights you hold in the content you add. You grant the operator only the permission technically necessary to run the service on your behalf: to fetch, store, process and write that content into the calendars you have linked.

5. Sharing calendars

Sharing sends another user a copy of a calendar's address, name and color. It is a one-time copy, not a live link: once accepted, their copy is independent, and later changes to yours do not affect theirs.

Only share feeds you are entitled to pass on. Sharing does not grant anyone access to this service — the recipient still needs their own invitation to sign in.

6. Third-party services

The service depends on Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare, the email provider Resend, and the publishers of your feeds. Their terms govern your use of them, and their availability is outside the operator's control. A change or outage at any of them may break or interrupt this service without warning.

7. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

No promise is made that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any sync will be complete or correct. Syncing may be delayed, partial, duplicated, or fail silently.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, opportunity or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. This expressly includes anything arising from a missed, late, duplicated, altered or incorrect calendar entry — such as a missed appointment, game, flight or deadline.

Because the service is supplied free of charge, the operator's total aggregate liability arising from it is limited to zero, except for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of sections 7 and 8 may not apply to you. In that case those provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted.

9. Calendars created in your accounts

Calendars that Calendar Mesh creates inside your Outlook or Google account belong to you and remain under your control. If your account here is removed, or you disconnect a provider, those calendars stay where they are and simply stop updating. Delete them yourself if you no longer want them.

Removing a calendar from Calendar Mesh, or resetting one, may delete the events it previously created in the linked calendar. Do not store anything in a synced calendar that exists nowhere else.

10. Ending it

You may stop using the service at any time, disconnect any provider, and ask for your account and data to be deleted.

The operator may modify, suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time and without liability. This is a personal project maintained in spare time; there is no commitment to continued availability, and no service level of any kind.

Sections 4, 7, 8, 9 and 11 survive the ending of these terms.

11. General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there — except where the law of your own country of residence grants you rights that cannot be overridden by agreement.

Terms may be updated; the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
